No. 24 Indiana Hoosiers improved to 7-0 with a dominant 100-56 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers trailed for just 27 seconds and controlled the game from start to finish in front of 12,192 fans. Tucker DeVries led with 20 points, including five 3-pointers.
Indiana basketball showcased its depth and efficiency in a blowout win against Bethune-Cookman, extending its unbeaten streak to seven games. The Hoosiers, coming off a victory against Kansas State, showed no signs of a letdown despite the early noon tipoff and holiday break. They scored at 1.41 points per possession while holding the Wildcats to 0.79, committing just seven turnovers—a season-low 9.9% rate.
Tucker DeVries bounced back from a subpar shooting night against Kansas State, finishing with a game-high 20 points on 5-for-10 from 3-point range in 28 minutes. This marked his third game with five or more made 3s this season, and he now shoots 44.1% from deep overall (26-for-59 in seven games). The redshirt senior earned his second KenPom Game MVP of the year.
The bench provided a season-high 45 points, with Nick Dorn excelling in his best performance yet for Indiana. The junior wing, returning from offseason foot surgery, scored 14 points on 4-for-5 3-pointers in 19 minutes. Sam Alexis added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Trent Sisley contributed 14 points and nine rebounds.
Tayton Conerway, who had seven turnovers against Kansas State, rebounded with nine points, five assists, and zero turnovers. He set an early tone with defensive energy and transition plays. Coach Darian DeVries praised him postgame: “Great bounce-back game for him. Terrific floor game for us.” DeVries also noted Dorn's growing comfort: “You can obviously see it today why we’re so excited to have him back, because he does bring a lot of firepower for us right now coming off the bench.”
Bethune-Cookman, coached by Reggie Theus and entering at 2-5 after close losses including an overtime scare against Auburn, couldn't keep pace. Indiana's focus remained sharp throughout the 40 minutes.
