IO Interactive has updated the PC system requirements for its upcoming James Bond origin game, 007 First Light, following inconsistencies pointed out by gamers. The changes include reducing recommended RAM from 32GB to 16GB and fixing minimum CPU details. The studio attributed the errors to internal miscommunication and apologized for the confusion.
IO Interactive announced the revised PC specifications for 007 First Light on January 15, 2026, after community members highlighted discrepancies in earlier versions shared last week. The developer explained that the issues stemmed from an "internal miscommunication" that led to an older set of specs being published prematurely.
In a statement posted on X, IO Interactive detailed the corrections: "We are providing today an update to the PC system requirements for 007 First Light after the community flagged some inconsistencies in an earlier version of the listing. The earlier mistake was due to an internal miscommunication leading to an older version of the specs to be shared. After a thorough re-examination and additional testing, the recommended RAM has been corrected from 32GB to 16GB, VRAM values have been updated, and the minimum CPU line has been fixed. Additional performance targets will be shared closer to launch. We’re sorry for the confusion this caused and appreciate everyone who brought it to our attention."
The updated minimum requirements are:
- OS: Microsoft Windows 10/11, 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5 9500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Video RAM: 6GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, AMD RX 5700, or Intel discrete GPU equivalent
- Storage: 80GB available space
For recommended specs:
- Processor: Intel Core i5 13500 or AMD Ryzen 5 7600
- Video RAM: 8GB
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, AMD RX 6700 XT, or Intel discrete GPU equivalent
007 First Light, an origin story for James Bond, is scheduled for release on May 27 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. At The Game Awards last month, it was revealed that Lenny Kravitz will portray black market dealer Bawma in the game. The updated specs are now available on the studio's store pages.
