Veteran actor James Handy died on June 3 after being stabbed at a property in Los Angeles. Authorities arrested his girlfriend's son, Michael Gledhill, on suspicion of murder. The 81-year-old appeared in shows including Alias and NYPD Blue.
James Handy, known for roles in Alias, NYPD Blue, Jumanji and Top Gun: Maverick, was found dead following the attack in Los Angeles. Police confirmed the arrest of Michael Gledhill in connection with the incident. Handy also played Detective Alan Cross in the Season 3 episode 2Shy of The X-Files. In that story Cross assists Mulder and Scully in tracking a serial killer who targets women met online. The episode, which aired in 1995, explored themes of misogyny through interactions between Cross and Dana Scully. Cross meets a violent end off-screen during the investigation.
