Jen Marie Wiggins' novel 'The Good Bride' optioned for TV adaptation

Range Media Partners has optioned Jen Marie Wiggins' debut novel 'The Good Bride' for a television series, in partnership with Google's 100 Zeros production arm and Station 26. The story explores family secrets and media lies during a lavish wedding weekend in a hurricane-ravaged coastal town. Executive producers include the author and several industry figures.

Jen Marie Wiggins' 2024 debut novel "The Good Bride," published by Crooked Lane Books, has been optioned for adaptation into a TV series. The deal was announced through Range Media Partners, which partnered with Google's 100 Zeros production arm and Station 26.

The novel's synopsis describes a plot set one year after a devastating hurricane: lavish wedding plans in a struggling coastal town unearth long-buried secrets. As the social-media-curated weekend unravels, a gunshot during the rehearsal dinner propels the story into a thriller examining messy family ties, modern media, and personal deceptions.

Wiggins, whose writing has appeared in outlets like Southern Coastal Weddings, Savannah Magazine, Literary Mama, and CrimeReads, previously published the illustrated gift book "Married AF: A Funny Marriage Guide for the Newlywed or Bride" via Sourcebooks in 2022.

The TV project will be executive produced by Wiggins; Station 26's Justin Levy; Range's Rachel Douglas; Range and 100 Zeros' Penny Lin; Fred Berger; Brian Kavanaugh-Jones; and Natalie Burkardt. In a statement, Douglas and Levy praised the book: "Jen Marie Wiggins just hit it out of the ballpark with her debut novel. It has something for everyone: part family drama, part whodunnit, part crime thriller and a dash of romance. Not to mention wealth, secrets, suspense and more! Needless to say, we’re incredibly excited to bring ’The Good Bride’ to the small screen."

The option deal was brokered by Untitled Entertainment, Lyons & Salky Law, and Ashley Lopez via Waxman Literary Agency. No further details on the series' format, cast, or release timeline have been disclosed.
