Johan Mörnsjö stays with Vimmerby after fan fundraiser

Johan Mörnsjö has signed a new contract to remain with Vimmerby for the 2026/27 season. Supporters raised 101950 kronor to make the deal possible.

The 29-year-old forward arrived from Östersund ahead of last season. He led Vimmerby in scoring with 13 goals and 31 points across 52 games.

Vimmerby announced that Mörnsjö will serve as the club's supporter player. The team described the fundraising effort as a collective achievement.

"Bara för att vi är den minsta klubben i HockeyAllsvenskan behöver vi inte vara små. Vi är många som precis har gjort något stort tillsammans", the club stated on its website.
