Rassemblement national (RN) president Jordan Bardella lunched on Monday April 20 with the Medef bureau, a first for a party leader. Before the meal, he stated he was not there as a student and criticized the government's economic policy. The meeting comes one year before the 2027 presidential election.
Jordan Bardella, Rassemblement national (RN) president and political heir to Marine Le Pen, was received on Monday April 20 by the Mouvement des entreprises de France (Medef) bureau. The lunch began at 12:30 p.m., with the guest arriving a few minutes late, accompanied by his special advisors Alexandre Loubet, RN deputy from Moselle, and François Durvye.
Before the meal, facing cameras, Bardella rejected the notion of an audition. "I am not in school for an audition," he said, adding: "I do not have a shameful business." He criticized politicians who seek to seduce Medef by telling them what they want to hear.
Bardella sharply attacked the government's economic policy. "The economy minister is called Olivier Faure, since it is the Parti socialiste today that guides all decisions taken by Mr. Lecornu," he stated. He called the government "hostage to the Parti socialiste" and denounced the recent increase in corporate tax, harmful to large groups as well as TPE-SMEs.
This meeting marks a first for an RN leader at Medef, one year before the 2027 presidential election where Bardella is a potential candidate, according to Le Figaro.
