Liberals make emergency closure an election issue

The Liberals have again said no to the planned closure of emergency surgery at Lindesbergs lasarett. The decision was taken in December 2024 and is to be implemented in three steps. The party wants to make the issue a central election question.

Opposition councillor Willhelm Sundman (L) reiterated the party’s position in a press release. He stressed that the Liberals have opposed the proposal from the start.

Sundman linked the issue to the upcoming regional election. He described the election as a referendum on emergency care.

The December 2024 decision remains in place and has not yet been implemented.
