LIV Golf Adelaide sets new attendance record in Australia

The LIV Golf Adelaide event drew a record-breaking crowd of over 115,000 fans across four days at The Grange Golf Club. This marked the highest attendance for both the league and any professional golf event in Australia. The surge came during Anthony Kim's come-from-behind victory, his first in 16 years.

LIV Golf's shift to 72-hole formats has boosted its popularity, as seen at the recent Adelaide event. South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas announced that the four-day total exceeded 115,000 attendees, surpassing the previous Australian professional golf record of 112,698 set at the 2025 Australian Open at Royal Melbourne.

Saturday's attendance reached more than 38,500 fans, the highest single-day figure in LIV Golf's four-plus seasons. Over three years, the Adelaide events have attracted more than 400,000 fans in total. For comparison, the 2026 event averaged over 28,750 fans per day, while the 2025 edition saw 102,000 attendees averaging 34,000 daily over three days.

Malinauskas praised the milestone in a statement: "This attendance sets a new record that everyone in South Australia and sports fans around the country can be very proud of." He highlighted the event as a showcase of world-class golf and South Australia's appeal, thanking The Grange Golf Club for their hospitality. He also noted the strengthening partnership between the state government and LIV Golf.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil expressed gratitude to Australian fans: "There is something really special, almost magical, about the experience when you walk through this course." He acknowledged the record and affirmed long-term commitment, with the event relocating to Kooyonga Golf Club in March 2027 and then to North Adelaide Golf Course starting in 2028.

The success underscores growing interest in the league's expanded format.
