M.I.A. filed a lawsuit against Kid Cudi seeking more than $2.8 million after her removal from the Rebel Rangers Tour. The complaint was filed on May 29 in federal court in California. It alleges breach of contract and interference following remarks she made onstage in Dallas.
M.I.A., whose full name is Mathangi Arulpragasam, claims in the complaint that Kid Cudi, born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, knew her political views when he booked her as an opener. She alleges the termination was done to boost publicity for a tour struggling with ticket sales and that she had full creative control under the agreement with Live Nation.
