Gustavo Egusquiza from Bilbao spent 960 dollars on a pair of nail clippers once owned by Diane Keaton. The communications consultant added the item to his collection of celebrity memorabilia. Keaton died in October 2025 at age 79.
The purchase comes from an auction of Keaton's possessions held by Bonhams. Items included her art collection and wardrobe pieces. Egusquiza also owns a teapot that belonged to Whoopi Goldberg and a desk figurine from Larry King.
Egusquiza told BANG Showbiz he values the narrative over monetary worth. He described the clippers as a tiny capsule of Keaton's life. The collector said everyday objects from famous people create a mix of tenderness and glamour.
His family approves of the spending. Egusquiza has collected since his teenage years. He uses the items to inspire his work with hotels and cultural projects.
The auction was described by Bonhams as a curated selection of fine art, fashion and personal ephemera.
