Director Matt Reeves released a short teaser video featuring Robert Pattinson as Batman. The clip confirms a new release date of February 18, 2028. The film had previously been scheduled for October 2027.
In a social media post on July 15, Reeves shared footage of Pattinson in the Batsuit. The video shows the character turning toward the camera amid rain and flashing police lights, accompanied by dramatic music and the updated release date.
Pattinson discussed the project at the premiere of The Drama. He told Deadline the script is extraordinary and described the sequel as very different from the 2022 film, noting it takes big swings.
Colin Farrell, who plays the Penguin in the series, also praised the screenplay on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. He called it a masterwork that is dense, intelligent, and deep, and said Pattinson has a lovely journey ahead for audiences.
