Wyndham Clark captured the CJ Cup Byron Nelson thanks in part to guidance from his mental-game coach Julie Elion. Elion highlighted Clark's handling of a challenging situation during the final round.
Clark encountered a mud ball on the par-5 ninth hole and was denied casual-water relief by rules officials. He responded by making par and closing with a 60 to win by three shots. Elion said she felt pride watching his response and noted the years of work on staying present and learning from adversity rather than feeling victimized by bad luck.
