Michael Weatherly has shared details about his upcoming return as Tony DiNozzo to the CBS series NCIS. The actor spoke during a fan convention in the United Kingdom last weekend. His comments highlighted plans for a season-long arc in the upcoming season.
Weatherly is scheduled to reprise the role this fall as part of NCIS Season 24. He described the return as exciting while noting the changes to the series since his departure after Season 13.
The actor confirmed that story elements from the canceled Paramount+ spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva will connect to the new storyline. "There is a definite connection between 'Tony & Ziva' and the canon that it created," he said.
CBS announced the return earlier this month. The series airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Weatherly originally starred in the show from its 2003 debut until 2016.
