Military ceremony marks 214 years of artillery

A military ceremony was held at the parade ground of the No. 9 Tenerife Field Artillery Battalion to commemorate the 214th anniversary of the Artillery arm. The event featured prominent officers and a special decoration.

Attendees included Major (RVA) Harold Pérez Charry, Lieutenant (RVA) Henry Herrera Camacho, and Lieutenant Colonel Álvaro Iván Gutiérrez Pitta, the battalion's commander.

During the event, Major David Góngora was awarded the Military Santa Bárbara Medal in the presence of his wife Heidy Paola Guerrero and son Gael. The Metropolitan Symphonic Band of Neiva participated, providing a solemn musical element. Lieutenant Colonel Álvaro Iván Gutiérrez Pitta presided over the ceremony, emphasizing the historical significance of artillery in the armed forces.
