A fire broke out in an auto workshop in Brackenheim, Heilbronn district, on Thursday evening. Police reported that a backfire occurred during repair work. The entire workshop was engulfed in flames, and the fire spread to cars parked in the yard outside. Those vehicles burned completely.

Dense smoke damaged adjacent residential houses, rendering them uninhabitable for now. Fortunately, there were no injuries, according to authorities. The damage is estimated at about one million euros.

The cause appears to stem from the repair work that led to the initial backfire. Firefighters eventually extinguished the blaze, but the impact on affected residents is significant. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
