In the American League East, Toronto's Gage Stanifer, a 21-year-old right-hander, finished with a 2.86 ERA and 161 strikeouts in 110 innings, featuring a mid-90s fastball and mid-80s slider. Baltimore's Nate George hit .337 with 50 steals in 80 games at age 19. Tampa Bay's Jose Urbina recorded a 2.05 ERA in his age-19 season. Boston's Payton Tolle reached the majors with a 3.04 ERA before his call-up. New York's Carlos Lagrange posted a 3.53 ERA with 168 strikeouts in 120 innings.
