MLB Network special to relive 2025 World Series Game 7

Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Costas and five-time Emmy winner Tom Verducci will reunite for an MLB Network special on the iconic 2025 World Series Game 7. The program premieres Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, revisiting the Los Angeles Dodgers' narrow victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in an 11-inning thriller.

The MLB Network special, titled '2025 World Series Game 7,' will delve into the unforgettable deciding game that averaged 51 million viewers across the United States, Japan, and Canada, marking the most-watched MLB game in 34 years. The Dodgers secured a back-to-back championship by defeating the Blue Jays, who were appearing in their first World Series in 32 years.

Costas and Verducci, longtime collaborators on MLB broadcasts, will provide real-time insights, in-depth analysis, and historical context. They revisit defining plays, pivotal decisions, momentum swings, and emotional moments that defined the game.

“As the closing act of one of the greatest World Series ever, Game 7 was an unmatched combination of excitement, tension, managerial chess moves, individual heroics and so many heart pounding moments in which the outcome hung in the balance,” says Costas. “I have seen a lot of baseball in my life, but I cannot recall a single game with so much at stake that combined as many elements as this one.”

“Think you know what happened in 2025 World Series Game 7? Think again,” says Verducci. “Watch the 'MLB Network Special' on one of the greatest games ever played and you will discover new insights, new camera angles and new behind-the-scenes stories. It’s the Mariana Trench of deep dives.”

The special highlights key moments, including Will Smith’s go-ahead home run in the 11th inning, Miguel Rojas’ game-tying ninth-inning home run, a dramatic play at the plate involving Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and Andy Pages’ remarkable game-saving catch, which Verducci describes as “one of the greatest catches in World Series history.” The program re-airs at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT on the same day.

This marks another collaboration for Costas and Verducci, who previously revisited the 2016 World Series Game 7 and co-hosted MLB Network’s '20 Greatest Games' series in 2011.
