Salvadori passed away on May 1, 2026, in his garage alongside his motorcycles. He was one of the busiest motorcycle writers of the second half of the 20th century and a pioneer in adventure-travel writing on two wheels, exploring developing countries during an era when such journeys were less commonly documented.
