Fresh rumors have emerged suggesting that Calle Järnkrok could return to Brynäs for the 2026/27 season. The 34-year-old forward remains without a club after his contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs expired.
Social media accounts have claimed that a deal with Brynäs is close, according to reports cited by Gefle Dagblad. The newspaper noted that these claims have not been confirmed.
Earlier reports in December indicated that Järnkrok had verbally agreed to join Brynäs, but his agent denied any ongoing negotiations at the time.
Järnkrok became an unrestricted free agent after his previous contract with Toronto, which carried a cap hit of 2.1 million dollars per season. It remains unclear whether the latest rumors will lead to a signing.
