A new adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 16. The Focus Features and Working Title production stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood.

Georgia Oakley directs the film from a script by Diana Reid. The story follows sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they navigate 18th century England's societal expectations.

Daisy Edgar-Jones leads the cast as Elinor. Esmé Creed-Miles portrays Marianne. Additional cast members include Catríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, George MacKay, Herbert Nordrum, Bodhi Rae Breathnach and Fiona Shaw.

Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films produce alongside India Flint and Jo Wallett. A trailer for the movie was released in June.

The project follows the 1995 adaptation directed by Ang Lee with a screenplay by Emma Thompson.
