Saturday June 27 became the warmest day in a long time in southern Sweden. Several locations broke heat records as temperatures rose above 36 degrees.
In Malmö 35.1 degrees were measured, a new heat record for the city. Lund reached 36.3 degrees, the highest June temperature ever in Skåne and the highest in the country in 79 years.
Osby showed a preliminary 36.8 degrees, but the figures are still unconfirmed according to SMHI. Helsingborg and Jönköping also broke their June records.
Train traffic was hit by canceled trains and delays in Skåne during the day. SMHI has issued yellow warnings for thunderstorms arriving on Sunday.
