Nursing home in Poissy manages power outage during heatwave

The EHPAD Korian L’Île de Migneaux in Poissy suffered a power outage on June 25 amid a heatwave alert.

The outage hit Poissy and around fifteen municipalities in the Yvelines. At its peak, 27,000 households were without power.

The facility houses about one hundred residents. Air conditioning and fans stopped around 1 p.m., following micro-outages in the morning.

Staff organized to protect residents from the intense heat. One team member said there had been a real wave of solidarity and that everyone had handled the situation well.
