Opposition appoints Natembeya to coordinate western activities

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua announced that Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya will coordinate opposition activities across five western counties.

The announcement came at a political meeting held last Sunday in Kitale. The gathering was attended by Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper and Eugene Wamalwa of DAP-Kenya. Natembeya will oversee opposition work in Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Vihiga counties.

Gachagua said the opposition wants a single candidate in 2027 and described Natembeya as a reliable politician. He stated, “Nawaomba mumuunge mkono Gavana Natembeya kwa muhula wa pili na atakuwa akiongoza kampeni zetu eneo hili.”

Natembeya said he is ready to defend his governorship seat. Councilor James Mwangi announced he had left UDA to join the opposition and would campaign for Natembeya.
