Ottawa Senators offer jersey swap after Tkachuk trade

The Ottawa Senators have launched a campaign allowing fans to exchange Brady Tkachuk jerseys for discounts following his trade to the Florida Panthers. The move comes days after the team sent its captain to Florida in return for four draft picks, including three first-round selections.

The Senators announced the "Chuk Out the Old Jersey" promotion on July 3. Fans can bring authentic Fanatics Tkachuk jerseys to the team store at Canadian Tire Centre through July 7 and receive 40 percent off new merchandise.

Tkachuk was traded shortly before the campaign began. The 2018 fourth overall pick had spent eight seasons with Ottawa, recording 463 points in 572 games and serving as captain during the team's return to the playoffs.

He requested the move under his no-move clause and approved Florida as a destination. There he will join his brother Matthew Tkachuk on the Panthers roster.
