Plaud launches NotePin S AI wearable at CES 2026

Plaud has introduced the NotePin S, an updated AI wearable designed for recording and summarizing conversations, just in time for CES 2026. The device features a new button to flag key moments and is available now for $179. It aims to assist users in busy environments like conferences by capturing audio and generating transcriptions via a companion app.

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, from January 4 to 9, Plaud unveiled the NotePin S, a compact AI wearable that builds on its original NotePin from 2024. This iteration replaces the squeeze-to-record mechanism with a recessed button: a long press activates recording, while a separate "press to highlight" function allows users to mark important parts of conversations. These flags help the AI prioritize details in its summaries.

The pill-shaped device, smaller than a USB stick and weighing 0.6 ounces, includes dual microphones with a reliable range of 9.8 feet, making it suitable for noisy settings like convention centers. Plaud tested a similar version at the Dreamforce conference earlier in the year, confirming its performance in crowded spaces. Users can attach the NotePin S via a lapel pin, lanyard, wristband, clip, or magnet, offering versatility for different outfits and scenarios.

It connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth, sending audio for transcription and summarization in the Plaud app. For journalists and professionals facing information overload at events like CES, the device promises to streamline note-taking by eliminating the need for manual scribbling or separate recorders.

Alongside the wearable, Plaud announced the Plaud Desktop, an AI notetaker for computers that detects and records in-person or online meetings without joining calls as a bot. It provides context-rich summaries accessible in the same Plaud account, unifying notes from wearables and desktops.

The NotePin S is available immediately for $179 from Plaud's website and Amazon, with the Desktop also launching now. Plaud emphasizes obtaining consent before recording others.
