A police officer fired at a vehicle during a chase on Autobahns 9 and 6 in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The driver with a foreign license plate had evaded a traffic stop and later drove toward an officer. No one was injured.
The pursuit began on the A9 near Greding in the district of Roth. The driver evaded a check and sped away in a zigzag pattern. Officers suspected he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The chase continued on the A6 into Baden-Württemberg. Police from both states took part. The vehicle was eventually stopped near the Schnelldorf junction.
When officers attempted to check the man, he drove toward one of them. The officer fired in self-defense and hit the car. The driver was arrested without resistance.
