Pregnant woman and sister face charges in Detroit stabbing

A pregnant woman and her sister are accused of stabbing a restaurant employee in Detroit after an argument over a wrong food order. The incident occurred on May 30 at a chicken restaurant on the 17100 block of E. Warren Avenue.

Brianna Long, 29, and her sister Kierianna Long, 26, face charges including assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors said the sisters went inside the restaurant after receiving the wrong order in the drive-thru. They allegedly chased the 23-year-old employee, threw pots and pans at her and tossed hot grease toward her head.

The employee reportedly threw a knife in self-defense. Kierianna Long then picked up the knife and stabbed the employee in the stomach, according to the reports. The employee hid in a car and called police. She later underwent emergency surgery at a hospital.

Defense attorneys said the employee was the aggressor and told the sisters she did not care about the wrong order. They claimed she threw items at the sisters first. Brianna Long, who was nine months pregnant, gave birth days after her arrest.

Both sisters remain in jail. Brianna Long has a $25,000 bond and Kierianna Long has a $50,000 bond. They are set to return to court on June 17.
