PSMS Medan fell 0-2 to Port FC in their Group B Piala Presiden 2026 opener at Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo in Surabaya on Sunday, 26 July 2026.
PSMS Medan coach Eko Purdjianto acknowledged Port FC's superiority after the defeat. He said the team would evaluate and change the player composition for the next match against Persebaya Surabaya.
"We acknowledge Port FC's superiority. We will improve for the second match," Eko said at the press conference.
Port FC coach Sarawut Treephan expressed satisfaction with the result as it was the team's first official pre-season match. He dedicated the win to his players.
"This is the first official match in pre-season. We are certainly happy to secure the victory," Sarawut said.
