Pure Padel to build UK's first purpose-built padel warehouse in Gosforth

Pure Padel is set to construct a new Centre of Excellence in Gosforth, Newcastle, marking the UK's first purpose-built padel warehouse. The 10-court facility at Gosforth Business Park will feature a show court and hospitality areas, with construction starting this week and an opening planned for December 2026. This expansion highlights the growing popularity of padel in the north-east of England.

Pure Padel, one of the UK's fastest-growing padel operators, has secured planning permission for a 40,000 square foot warehouse dedicated exclusively to the sport. Located at Gosforth Business Park just north of Newcastle city centre, the site was chosen for its accessibility and visibility to local players and businesses.

The development includes a tournament-grade show court, a clubhouse with a café, licensed bar, sports lounge, changing facilities, and spaces for corporate events. As Pure Padel's first designated Centre of Excellence, it will integrate courts, coaching programs, and tournament hosting under one roof. The club operates on a pay-to-play basis, with courts bookable through the Playtomic app and no membership fees required. On-site LTA-qualified coaches will support players at all levels.

Sammy Arora, the 24-year-old founder and CEO of Pure Padel, emphasized the project's significance. “Gosforth is a hugely important project for us. This will be the UK’s first purpose-built padel warehouse and our first Centre of Excellence, which makes it incredibly exciting,” he said. Arora noted the two-year collaboration with the local council and the investment in the freehold site. He added that the facility addresses strong demand in Newcastle and the wider north-east, where players currently travel long distances to access courts. The venue will also cater to the business community for networking and events.

Since its debut club opened at Alderley Park in October 2023, Pure Padel has expanded rapidly. Existing locations include Manchester city centre, Darlington, Stockport, North Leeds, and Nottingham. Construction is underway in Lightwater, Solihull, and Glasgow, while planning advances for sites in Birmingham, York, Coulsdon, Liverpool Innovation Park, and the Wirral. Arora's vision includes establishing 30 clubs by the time he turns 30.
