The Las Vegas Raiders have signed veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins to a one-year contract worth $11.3 million to help develop their first overall pick Fernando Mendoza ahead of the 2026 season.
Cousins, a 14-year veteran, has expressed support for the young quarterback while making clear his intent to compete for the starting role. He told NFL Network that Mendoza would be a great addition and that the best player should play, with no issue if that leads to him starting in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins.
