River Plate and Rosario Central drew 0-0 in the first half of the Torneo Apertura semifinal at the Monumental Stadium. Sebastián Driussi suffered an injury after 10 minutes and Gonzalo Montiel missed a penalty.
The match began with incidents. Sebastián Driussi received a hard challenge from Franco Ibarra and left the pitch in tears with a right knee injury. Joaquín Freitas replaced him.
In the 28th minute referee Nicolás Ramírez awarded a penalty after reviewing in the VAR a elbow from Gastón Ávila on Lucas Martínez Quarta. Gonzalo Montiel took the kick and Jeremías Ledesma saved it.
River controlled possession but Rosario Central held firm. The first half ended 0-0 after eight minutes of added time. At the start of the second half Eduardo Coudet substituted Gonzalo Montiel for Fabricio Bustos.
