Robin Press signs with Kölner Haie after KHL exit

Swedish defenceman Robin Press has left the KHL to join Kölner Haie in Germany's DEL league. The move marks his fourth European league after five seasons in Russia.

Robin Press is set to continue his career with Kölner Haie following five seasons in the KHL. He previously played for Severstal Tjerepovets and Metallurg Magnitogorsk, recording 41 points in 62 regular-season games and 10 points in 15 playoff games last season.

Press was among the few Swedish players who remained in the KHL after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He completed his contract there before deciding to move to Germany.

His earlier career included time in Sweden with Södertälje and Djurgården, a stint in North America's AHL, and a period in Finland before joining the KHL in 2021. The transfer brings him to a new league in Europe.
