Sacramento Kings sign Precious Achiuwa to deal

The Sacramento Kings have signed forward Precious Achiuwa, adding the experienced big man to their roster. In a related move, the team waived forward Isaac Jones to create space. Terms of the deal were not disclosed per team policy.

The Sacramento Kings announced the signing of forward Precious Achiuwa on Thursday, bolstering their frontcourt options with the 6-8, 243-pound veteran. Achiuwa brings a solid track record to Sacramento, having appeared in 320 career NBA games with 72 starts across stints with the Miami Heat (2020-21), Toronto Raptors (2021-24), and New York Knicks (2023-25). His career averages stand at 7.6 points on 48.4% shooting from the field and 5.7 rebounds per game in 20.0 minutes of action.

In the postseason, Achiuwa has suited up for 26 games with the Heat, Raptors, and Knicks, posting 5.0 points on 48.7% field goal shooting and 3.2 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per contest. Originally drafted 20th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Draft, Achiuwa earned NBA Rising Stars honors in both his rookie (2021) and sophomore (2022) seasons.

To accommodate the addition, the Kings waived forward Isaac Jones, who had been on the roster. This move comes as Sacramento looks to deepen its rotation amid the ongoing NBA season.
