At Brinco de Ouro stadium in Campinas, Santos faced Guarani in the third round of the Campeonato Paulista on Sunday. The Alvinegro Praiano took the lead at the 13th minute of the second half, with Barreal scoring by finishing a cross from Vini after a long ball from Arão.
Santos had chances to extend the lead, such as a shot from Rollheiser saved by goalkeeper Caíque França and a goal by Thaciano disallowed for offside on Lautaro. However, the standout was goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão, who saved a penalty at the fifth minute of the second half, taken by Mirandinha to the right corner, with a two-move save.
Guarani pushed forward and equalized at the 52nd minute of the second half, when Kewen headed in from a corner kick. With the result, Santos sits in eighth place with four points, while Guarani climbs to 14th with two points, exiting the relegation zone.
Santos returns to action on Wednesday (21/1) in a derby against Corinthians. Guarani will face Veloso Clube on Thursday (22/1).
