São Paulo Metro's Line 5-Lilás stations begin using autonomous cleaning robots

ViaMobilidade has started using autonomous robots for cleaning at three stations on São Paulo Metro's Line 5-Lilás.

The equipment operates at Capão Redondo, Campo Limpo and Santa Cruz stations. Two robots have been in use since June, fitted with Artificial Intelligence and advanced navigation systems.

Average platform cleaning time dropped from three and a half hours to 40 minutes. Water use per operation fell from 980 liters to 15 liters, a reduction of 98.47%.

ViaMobilidade plans to expand the robots to other locations by the end of the year. The machines work outside commercial hours.
