The Public Security Secretariat released data showing a 15.5% rise in domestic violence registrations in the state between January and April 2026.
From January to April this year, more than 127,000 domestic violence-related cases were recorded in São Paulo, according to the SSP. This represents an average of over one thousand occurrences per day, including bodily injuries, threats and stalking.
In the same period of 2025, the figure stood slightly above 110,000. The rise comes alongside an increase in feminicides, which went from 82 to 107 cases.
The SSP stated that combating violence against women is a priority. The agency highlighted the expansion of specialized police stations and the launch of the Patrulha SP Mulher Segura, with 101 vehicles planned by the end of 2026.
It also cited measures such as the SP Mulher Segura app, which logged more than 2,500 police reports, and electronic monitoring of 1,300 aggressors.
