Swedish Air Force marks 100 years with wreath ceremony at F 16

A wreath-laying ceremony took place on Tuesday morning at Upplands flygflottilj F 16 to mark the Swedish Air Force's 100th anniversary.

The ceremony at F 16 was the first in a series planned by Air Force leadership over the summer. Several flotillas across the country will receive visits for similar wreath layings.

Air Force Chief Jonas Wikman stressed the importance of recognizing heritage and history. He described F 16 as a good starting point for the journey.

Wikman also highlighted upcoming developments at the flotilla. New government aircraft and the GlobalEye radar surveillance aircraft will be based in Uppsala while the garrison expands to train more personnel.
