Police spokesperson Filip Annas described the incident: “It involves a taxi driver who was beaten. Jumped by two people who left the scene.” By 8 PM, officers were conducting interviews with the injured driver, who was taken to the hospital. He was conscious, but police declined to provide further details on his injuries.
Later that evening, police arrested two men, one in his late teens and one in his early twenties, suspected of aggravated assault. They were found in the vicinity. According to a police update, one of the arrested men was later released, with suspicions against him dropped. The other remains a suspect.
