Minor tension occurred at a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam event in Kaniyur near Coimbatore when a woman functionary alleged she was pushed by party workers.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening during an event organized for Sulur MLA N.M. Sukumar to thank voters after his Assembly election victory. Woman functionary Vasanthi claimed she was pushed by workers accompanying the MLA.

Mr. Sukumar denied the allegation the next day. He told media persons on Thursday that the supporters who accompanied him were not involved in the incident.

The event was held by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam cadre near Coimbatore.
