Tesla is set to open a new electric vehicle service center in Comal County, Texas, next year. The facility in New Braunfels will begin operations in March 2026. This expansion comes as the company prepares to launch more affordable EV models.

Tesla, the Austin-based electric vehicle company owned by Elon Musk, is expanding its presence in Central Texas with a new service center in New Braunfels. According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the project was registered on Sept. 19.

The 47,000-square-foot facility will be located at 5309 Interstate Highway 35, a site that previously housed a playground equipment company. Construction is expected to cost about $10.4 million and be completed by December 2026, with operations starting in March 2026.

Tesla is currently headquartered in Travis County, operating a 10-million-square-foot factory outside Austin. This new center in neighboring Comal County marks further growth for the company in the region.

In related developments, Tesla recently announced plans to introduce more affordable versions of its EVs later this year into early 2026. The Model 3 Standard will cost just less than $37,000, featuring reductions in lighting, driving range, and more. The Model Y will be available for just less than $40,000, with changes including fewer audio speakers, no panoramic glass roof, a shorter driving range, and other modifications.
