Tesla has started rolling out its 2025.38 software update, dubbed this year's Fall Update, to vehicles worldwide beginning in North America. The release introduces 3D building visualizations in navigation, expands the Grok AI assistant to Canada, and adds improvements to Dashcam functionality and driver profiles. These enhancements aim to improve user experience through better visuals, security, and convenience.

The 2025.38 update brings several visual and functional upgrades to Tesla vehicles. A key addition is 3D buildings and cityscapes in the navigation map view, available for users with Premium Connectivity via a new Cube icon. This feature renders detailed three-dimensional buildings, enhancing navigation by making turns and intersections clearer, especially at higher zoom levels. It requires the AMD Ryzen infotainment unit and is available on Model 3 and Model Y, with plans for Cybertruck and refreshed Model S and X. Users can tilt the map view by panning with two fingers when 3D mode is enabled, though it cannot be combined with satellite view.

Tesla's AI assistant, Grok, has expanded internationally for the first time, launching in Canada for owners with Premium Connectivity or WiFi access. In beta, Grok handles conversations via the voice command button but does not yet control vehicle functions. A wake word like 'Hey, Grok' is planned for future releases.

Dashcam updates include street names in recording titles for easier identification in both the vehicle viewer and Tesla app, working on all models including legacy Model S and X. Video streaming quality has improved with variable bitrate scaling based on connection speed, available on Model 3 and Y but not legacy models.

Other features encompass profile locking tied to specific phone keys for added security, hiding sensitive profile data like home addresses; new left scroll wheel functions for muting navigation, toggling Bioweapon Defence Mode, or Music Light Sync; immersive charging visualizations showing charger types on Model 3 and Y; simplified streaming service logins via Tesla app notifications; and Apple Music enhancements like organized playlists and artist pages.

The rollout is rapid, starting in North America and expanding globally. However, it may delay access to Full Self-Driving version 14.1, currently based on 2025.32, until Tesla updates it.
