The Paris prosecutor’s office announced Thursday that three animators will appear before an investigating judge on Friday in an inquiry into sexual assaults in after-school programs in the 7th arrondissement.
The inquiry, opened after around thirty complaints from parents, led on Wednesday to the detention of 16 people including ten contract animators, three specialized nursery school staff and three city education officials. Thirteen detentions were lifted on Thursday.
The remaining three individuals, two men and one woman aged 30 to 51, face accusations of sexual acts. The reported incidents involve schools Saint-Dominique, Rapp and La Rochefoucauld and include rapes, sexual assaults, indecent exposures as well as violence such as slaps and arm pulling.
Since the start of 2026, 78 municipal staff have been suspended in Paris schools, 31 of them over suspected sexual violence.
