Tiger Woods is set to compete in the TGL finals on Tuesday night after months away from the game. The 50-year-old will play for Jupiter Links against Los Angeles in Palm Beach, replacing Kevin Kisner alongside Max Homa and Tom Kim. The appearance raises hopes for a potential Masters comeback next month.
Tiger Woods will make his return to competitive golf in match two of the best-of-three TGL finals in Palm Beach. Jupiter Links, his team, fell in the opening match on Monday and now faces Los Angeles Golf Club, featuring Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Sahith Theegala. Woods steps in for Kevin Kisner, joining Max Homa and Tom Kim, as Akshay Bhatia sits out due to the Indian Open in Delhi. A TGL post on X announced simply: “He’s back.” Woods, a 15-time major champion and five-time Masters winner, has not played an on-course event since the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon. His latest back surgery came in October following a ruptured Achilles in March 2025, a September 2024 back procedure and leg injuries from a 2021 car accident. Last month, Woods said a Masters appearance is “not off the table.” He added: “I’ve been working on it. Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days. Disc replacement is not a lot of fun.” Reflecting on his recovery, he noted: “I’ve had a lot of procedures, so the body doesn’t quite heal like it was when I was 24. Doesn’t quite bounce back. So I have good days when I can pretty much do anything, and other days where it’s hard to just to move around.” Woods had played TGL in February but has managed Jupiter Links lately, saying last week he was content not to disrupt the lineup. The indoor TGL format differs sharply from Augusta's demands, tempering expectations for his full PGA Tour return.
