Tigres pushed for a tie without clear chances, but a last-minute penalty by Jennifer Hermoso was saved by Martínez, the match's heroine. The return leg is set for May 3 at 19:00 in Estadio Universitario, Monterrey.
Tigres, third with 37 points and seven-time champions, face sixth-placed Toluca with 33 points. Both top scorers tied at 18 goals, and Tigres won their last head-to-head 2-1.
