President Donald Trump shared new images of a limited-edition U.S. passport intended to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, posting the renderings on Truth Social on June 26.
The sample pages show an image of Trump at the Resolute Desk, with the text of the Declaration of Independence visible in the background and his signature printed at the bottom. The facing page features John Trumbull’s painting, “The Declaration of Independence.”
In his post, Trump highlighted the phrase printed on the design: “Welcome, but be good!”
The State Department previously said the commemorative passport would include “custom artwork and enhanced imagery” while maintaining standard security features. Department spokesman Tommy Pigott described the limited run in April as a special issuance meant to mark the semiquincentennial celebration.
According to the State Department’s website, the limited-edition commemorative passport will be issued at the Washington Passport Agency in Washington, D.C., starting on July 6, 2026, while supplies last. The department has said the design will be the default passport issued at that office during the release period, while the standard passport design remains available through online applications and other issuing locations.
The passport rollout comes as Washington hosts major events branded around the 250th anniversary. Trump appeared at the kickoff rally for the Great American State Fair on the National Mall on June 24, launching a multi-day exposition connected to the anniversary celebrations.
