Universidad Católica defeated Huachipato 3-0 in Talcahuano during matchday 14 of the Liga de Primera. The goals came from Clemente Montes, Justo Giani and Diego Corral.
Universidad Católica visited Estadio Huachipato and won convincingly. Clemente Montes opened the scoring with a header in the 51st minute after a cross from Matías Palavecino. Daniel Garnero’s side controlled the match from that point.
Justo Giani extended the lead in the 77th minute with a finish inside the box. Diego Corral sealed the result in stoppage time with a volley. The UC collected three important points and reached 23 on the table.
The result leaves the Crusaders ten points behind leaders Colo Colo. Huachipato failed to close the gap despite chances in the first half. The match was played in front of 4,628 spectators.
