The Office of the United States Trade Representative announced that its negotiating team will arrive in Mexico City next week for the third bilateral round of T-MEC negotiations.
Delegations from both countries will meet from July 21 to 23 in the Mexican capital. Topics include steel and aluminum trade, the automotive industry, economic security, labor issues, agriculture and electronic payment services.
US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer thanked Mexican Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard for his collaboration. He highlighted recent progress on dual-use export controls, intellectual property and trade facilitation.
Washington also recognized Mexican environmental measures and simplified requirements for telecommunications equipment. The goal is to strengthen the bilateral relationship and prevent third countries from unduly benefiting from the treaty.
