Växjö has acquired forward Peter Cehlárik ahead of the new SHL season. The 30-year-old brings extensive experience from multiple leagues including the NHL and KHL. Analyst Junland believes the move suits both the player and the club.
Junland said Cehlárik struggled in his final two seasons with Leksand due to a lack of suitable linemates. "Det sista året hade han väl inte direkt några lekkamrater att tala om," he noted, adding that chemistry issues the prior year also limited the Slovak's impact.
The forward has played in the SHL, KHL, NHL, AHL and represented Slovakia at World Championships and the Olympics. Junland described him as a player who needs support to create scoring chances rather than generating offense alone.
Växjö has added Eddie Levin and already features players such as Elvenes, Joel Persson and Brogan Rafferty. Junland expects these additions to help Cehlárik return to his previous form. He also noted that the club may still need another top forward to strengthen its lineup.
