Coach Xavi Pascual will leave FC Barcelona this summer to lead Dubai Basketball after paying a 300,000 euro termination fee himself.
Xavi Pascual will end his time at Barcelona this summer. The Catalan coach will personally pay the 300,000 euro termination clause to join the Emirati club.
The move follows weeks of strained relations with club management. Pascual took over in November after Joan Peñarroya left but received none of the promised reinforcements, including key signings during injuries to players like Laprovittola, Satoransky and Clyburn.
Dubai Basketball has already signed Okobo, Blossomgame, Diallo, Diakite and Mintz, with Sylvain Francisco eyed as a further addition. The team's main target is to reach the Final Four in Abu Dhabi.
