Boston Bruins dress as superheroes for annual hospital visit

Boston Bruins players traded their jerseys for superhero costumes on Wednesday, visiting young patients at local hospitals as part of their annual Halloween tradition. The team aimed to bring joy and normalcy to children facing tough times. Players interacted with kids through high-fives, hugs, and photos at Mass General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.

Ovechkin meets service dog named after him

Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin met an 18-week-old black Labrador puppy named 'Ovi' in his honor on October 18. The naming celebrates Ovechkin's record-breaking 895th NHL goal and his 1,500th career game. The puppy will train to assist a disabled U.S. veteran or first responder through America’s VetDogs.

Outreach programme launched to empower communities against unscrupulous lawyers

Legal practitioners in Kariega, Eastern Cape, hosted a community outreach engagement on Friday to launch national campaigns educating the public on reporting dishonest attorneys. The initiative addresses growing concerns over accountability in the legal profession, following the disbarring of 57 attorneys since 2018 for misconduct including theft from vulnerable clients. The programme seeks to increase awareness and reporting of such cases.
